- 90 live classroom hours of education and successful passage of school and state exam.
- Real Estate Principles AKA RE Principles I
- Real Estate Practices AKA RE Principles II
- All new salespersons must take a six-hour continuing education course in Contract Law and Contract Writing before they may activate their license. This course can be taken
through distance learning.
- 90 live classroom hours. Any two of the following four courses can be taken to satisfy the 90 hour requirement:
- Real Estate Law
- Real Estate Finance
- Real Estate Appraisal
- Real Estate Office Management
- Must have 3 years of licensed sales experience within the past 5 years
- Every 2 years, a total of 24 clock hours of continuing education
- In the first 24 months, 24 hours must be completed. In the second 24 months, an additional 24 hours must be completed.
- Of the 24 hours required for each 24 month period, 3 hours of credit must be obtained in each of the following 6 areas:
- Agency Law
- Contract Law
- Commissioner’s Standards
- Real Estate Legal Issues
- Fair Housing
- Disclosure
- The additional 6 hours can be taken from any category or "general" courses
- Maximum of 9 hours credit per day
- All licensees renew every 4 years from the date of intial licensure
