New York Detailed Real Estate Education Requirements Salesperson License
- Complete a 75-hour, state approved prelicense course.
- Pass a qualifying written examination administered by the Department.
Broker License
- Complete a 120-hour, state approved prelicense course.
- Pass a qualifying examination administered by the Department.
Continuing Education
- Every two years, complete a total of 22.5 clock hours of continuing education.
- 3 of the 22.5 hours must come from an approved fair housing/discrimination course.
Renewals
- All licensees renew every two years from the initial date of licensure.
